Association Visitors
If you think you would find it helpful, we can arrange for an Association Visitor (AV) to stay in regular contact with you, either by phone, email or by visiting you at home. By getting to know you and those close to you they can provide practical advice and support tailored to your individual needs now and when they change in the future.
Our AVs’ knowledge of MND and its effects means they can help you to access benefits and signpost you to sources of help or other services that might be helpful to you.
As part of local Multi-Disciplinary Teams, AVs can liaise on your behalf with a range of Health and Social Care Professionals. They can follow up requests made to statutory or voluntary agencies so that you get the help you need when you need it.
Our AVs hold regular 'patient and carer' support meetings which give an opportunity for people living with MND and/or their carers to meet with AVs and other people living with MND to share experiences and to get information on any latest developments.

"We have found the meetings a valuable resource for sharing information and experiences with other patients and carers. Also good for support from the caring and helpful volunteers who make it all happen. The cakes are always great too!"
